In recent years, Sound & Vision has already welcomed several communities to reinterpret its collections (CLARIAH Media Suite, RE:VIVE) or supported community/collective collecting in other ways (Oral History Hub, Amateur Film Platform). A great deal of knowledge has already been gained, but a network-wide long-term plan for public engagement and accessibility is not yet in place. Rewind and Record will lay the groundwork for that development. The research will conclude in 2023 with a publication through an open access academic journal. The publication will provide museums and archives with clear examples and tools for co-creation and collective collecting.

NWO Museum Grants
This project is awarded by a Museum Grant from the NWO. The intended aim of the Museum Grants is to explore and explain in greater depth ideas, materials and objects in museum collections. Eight projects are an elaboration of the possibility to do short-term research in one of the over 400 museums in the Netherlands.
