All of the Netherlands now has free access to one of the world's largest online media archives: the Schatkamer. With it, Sound & Vision brings a trusted, online archive to everyone, showcasing the history of Dutch media in all its richness and variety. In the year Dutch television celebrates its 75th anniversary, we are proud to give the greatest media gift in history to all people in the Netherlands.

Eppo van Nispen tot Sevenaer (director of Sound & Vision): "Our greatest dream has come true. With the Schatkamer, we are opening our vast archive to all people in the Netherlands, so that they can enjoy our memory in image and sound, whenever they wish. This is what our archive was always meant for. I take a deep bow to everyone who has contributed to bringing this wonderful project — this tour de force — to such a beautiful result."

75 Jaar TV

75 years of TV

On 2 October 2026, television in the Netherlands turns 75. A special milestone that Sound & Visionwill celebrate in a big way, together with all of the Netherlands. We hold one of the largest media archives in the world, with around one million hours of television. In this anniversary year, we look back on the many wonderful treasures from our archive, but we also look ahead. In our Mediamuseum, we are opening the new zone Verwonderen, and together with the Dutch public, we will be searching for television treasures that are missing from our archive. As a grand finale, in mid-May we will open our rich archive to all people in the Netherlands with the launch of the Schatkamer.
