How does it work?
If collection material is digitized, you can submit a request. Search the complete catalogue on zoeken.beeldengeluid.nl and place an order by clicking on the shopping cart icon. When your order is complete, click on the top right of the shopping cart and send the request by clicking on ‘order’.

Permission copyright holders
When you submit a request, it’s usually not yet known whether the copyright holder gives permission for the actual delivery of the material. We first approach the right holders for permission to make a copy for private use.
Payment and delivery
If the permission is granted, you will receive an email with a payment request. Once the payment has been made, we will prepare your order for shipment. Not received a download link 24 hours after payment? Please check your spam box.
Risk of no permission
There is a possibility that we are not be allowed to issue your application. A reason for this can lie in agreements with the producer or the rights of the used music. We will keep you informed about this by email. Of course, you only pay for your order if we can actually send your application to you.
Conditions
Archive material you receive via this service may only be used for private purposes. The material is therefore only for home use, and may not be used for multiplication or disclosure in any way whatsoever. Read the general and special conditions (Dutch).

The order process
What does an order cost?
A download costs €19,95.
Of course, we would like our collection to be accessible to everyone. That is why all our digitized collection material can be listened to and viewed free of charge at customer service in our building.
When do I know whether the right holder gives permission?
Usually we get a message from the owner within 10 working days. There is more research work for some applications, this may cause the process to take a bit longer.
How long does it take to receive my order?
You will usually receive a download link in your mailbox within a few hours after payment. Have you not received a download link 24 hours after payment? Then check your spam box.
Downloads
In which size do I receive my download?
You will receive your order in a zip file. Before you can play the audio or video file, you have to unpack it.
You receive a video download with the following specifications:

H.264 | 8 Mbps VBR
Audio:
AAC | 256kbps
Container:
.mov
The resolution will be chosen automatically, depending on the source file:
HD,
16:9 1280x720
SD,
16:9 1024x576
SD,
4:3 720x576
HD material with a format other than 16:9 is encoded with black bars on both sides.
In the case of an audio download, you will receive a copy of the original .wav file in our digital archive, with the highest quality available.
How do I download my order?
When your order is paid for, you will receive a download link via email. After receipt, you have 72 hours to download your file.
By clicking on the link your download starts automatically or you get the question where you want to save the file. By default, the download location is the ‘downloads’ folder.
How much time do I have to download my order?
After receiving the download link, you have 72 hours to download your order. Is the
download expired, then contact info@beeldengeluid.nl to apply for it again.
How do I open the zip file?
On most devices, you can extract a zip file by right-clicking on the file and selecting ‘unpack’ or ‘extract everything’. If this does not work, you can download a free program that can be used to open zip files, such as WinRAR (Windows, MacOS and Android) or WinZip (Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android).
How do I play my download?
After unpacking the zip file, double-click or tap the extracted video or audio file to play it. Most devices have a standard app that is automatically opened, such as Media Player or Quicktime. If your device does not have an application that can play your media, you can download a free media player, such as VLC.
Why does Sound & Vision not provide DVDs and CDs?
By only offering downloads, we ensure that we can deliver orders quickly and keep costs low. Because orders are made to measure, this service is very labor-intensive. In addition, physical media sales are declining worldwide and we can now offer a higher quality via downloads than with DVD.

Haven’t you heard from us after that period? Send an email to info@beeldengeluid.nl and state your name, address and the ordered program
(name, broadcast date, broadcaster). We will contact you as soon as possible to help you further.
For what purpose can I use the material?
Collection material that you request via this service is intended for private use, and may not be made public and/or reproduced in any way whatsoever.
If you want to use the material for other purposes, you can contact our customer contact center via info@beeldengeluid.nl. Indicate clearly what your planned use is. We then
look at the possibilities and contact you.

Sometimes material cannot be ordered via zoeken.beeldengeluid.nl. For example, because it’s not digitized, because we know that it cannot be re-used or if it has different technical specifications.
In some cases, we can serve you in another way. Send an email to info@beeldengeluid.nl with the link to or description of the material. In addition, clearly state what you’d like to use the material for. We will look at the possibilities and contact you.
