Under the Augmented Landmarks flag, the R&D department developed various projects in which a form of augmented reality is created by means of mobile technology.

A complete technical architecture was developed to support (mobile) location-based services for cultural heritage. In collaboration with the National Committee 4 & 5 May the iPhone app Oorlogsmonumenten in Beeld was developed, which enriches a visit to a war monument on location with relevant archive material. A similar application was developed for Madurodam called Madurodam in Beeld.
The Augmented Landmarks programme was funded within Images for the Future.
