Workshop Baas in eigen bubbel
We find ourselves constantly online, so absorbed in our apps that we log on without even realising it. We make and watch TikTok videos, play games on our phones, send messages, or Google the answer to any question we want! But what sort of breadcrumbs do we leave behind in our digital footprints? And where does all this information end up? As a matter of fact, why is our information collected and saved at all?
We dive into the world of online privacy and the consequences of the so-called ‘filter bubbles’. Your students will learn how to occasionally burst their own bubble and remain master of their media. We introduce the students to the business of data tracking, encourage them to make up their own minds about the revenue models of their favourite apps, and interactively provide them with alternative options if they wish to minimise their data footprints. Moreover we aim to guide students towards the realisation that there is no such thing as a ‘free app’. If something is free, then they themselves are the product. In this way we will tackle the complex world of data tracking together.
