Born Digital Media
An increasingly large part of our history originates in digital form, from games and podcasts to websites and immersive XR experiences. This is known as "born-digital" media. Because this content exists solely as digital data, it is extremely vulnerable. Rapidly changing technology and obsolete software cause digital culture to disappear quickly. Through active preservation and innovative techniques, we are safeguarding this heritage, ensuring that today’s digital gems remain preserved for researchers and the public alike.
