Maarten Brinkerink advises Sound & Vision on information technology and the institute's digital portfolio of products and services. This concerns both the application of information technology and the impact of new media and digital culture on the strategy and policy of Sound & Vision.

Maarten Brinkerink (1983) graduated in 2007 from the master's degree in New Media and Digital Culture at Utrecht University. Six months later he started as project leader for the Open Images project at the R&D department of Sound & Vision. In the beginning, his focus was on open access as a distribution model for digital heritage. Maarten's area of expertise has now been expanded to include knowledge about copyright, crowdsourcing and reuse of digital heritage. He has gained a lot of experience in access projects of the mass digitization project Images for the Future and in international research projects.

In addition to his work as a consultant at Sound & Vision, Maarten Brinkerink works as a freelancer under the name Digitaal Werktuig.
